NEW YORK, August 29, 2023 – FRONTEO (TSE: 2158) announces today that the number of registered members of the FRONTEO Legal Link Portal (https://legal.fronteo.com/fllp/; hereinafter "FLLP"), one of the largest membership-based legal platforms in Japan, has reached 12,000.
Since its establishment in June 2020, FLLP has continued to grow as one of Japan's largest platforms connecting experts with legal and intellectual property personnel and managers of companies involved in crisis management and compliance measures during normal times. More than 250 experts from Japan and abroad have participated in the regularly scheduled free seminars, where experts who rarely come into contact with corporate staff introduce actual cases and other concrete examples.

FLLP is a bridge between companies and lawyers.
I often hear from companies that they do not know who to turn to in times of crisis. FLLP has many videos of lawyers specialized in compliance and risk management, which I specialize in, and so companies can find lawyers that match their needs. My speaking engagements at FLLP have led to requests to be a lecturer from financial institutions and public interest corporations, giving me a valuable opportunity to provide support during normal times. Corporate scandals are highly urgent so companies need to have candidates of attorneys for a variety of potential matters on a regular basis, and FLLP is an effective way for such preparation.

With crisis management and dispute resolution (litigation, arbitration, etc.) as my two pillars, I provide effective solutions to problems surrounding companies and individuals. (1) Crisis management: I utilize the experience and know-how that I have led on-site in numerous major fraud and scandal cases in Japan and overseas. (ii) Dispute Resolution: I work to have a deep understanding on the needs of clients and always consider the best solution regardless of the arena. No case is too big or too small. I also have extensive litigation experience.
Seminars are available in both real-time streaming and on-demand viewing formats, and FLLP members can view more than 600 public videos of legal and intellectual property seminars at any time for free. The seminars introduce the latest trends in Japan and abroad, focusing on international litigation, fraud investigations, compliance measures, and other topics, and provide useful information for practical use. In recent years, we have been expanding the latest content on a daily basis, dealing with topics that are in line with current trends, such as human rights due diligence and power harassment responses against the backdrop of growing ESG awareness, and the new Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR) in the EU and its impact on Japanese companies. The site also provides videos introducing each law firm, and is widely used by corporate clients as a legal platform to connect companies with lawyers.

Initial response is the key to scandals at overseas subsidiaries.
The recent increase in international travel has brought to light scandals at overseas subsidiaries that had not previously surfaced due to the impact of COV-ID. It is not possible to prevent 100% of such scandals at overseas subsidiaries, and the initial response when a scandal occurs is crucial.In this seminar, I will explain the types of scandals commonly seen in overseas subsidiaries and discuss the background as to why such scandals tend to occur, as well as cover specific points for initial response with reference to case studies.

I have extensive knowledge and experience in international compliance and crisis management (fraud and misconduct handling, investigative work, and response to authorities), trouble-shooting, cross-border M&A, including Europe, the US, emerging countries, and overseas expansion (from the establishment of local offices and JVs to their operations and group governance). I also advise on many cases related to overseas bribery, economic security, and "Business and Human Rights". I contribute to the facilitation and further expansion of cross-border business.
