Since its launch in June 2020, the FRONTEO Legal Link Portal has become one of the largest platforms providing various legal field related content which resulted in connecting people in charge of legal and intellectual property matters at the corporate side, such as legal staff, managers of administrative departments, and information system department staff, with highly skilled lawyers and legal experts. Through this platform, company representatives can not only strengthen their knowledge through high-quality, professional content, but also gain new opportunities to connect with lawyers and experts who are highly skilled and reliable.

The contents of the portal site are international in nature and provide a wide range of information. One of the features of the site is that it has a large number of video lectures in English by American and other local experts. The webinars are held three to four times a month and available in livestreaming sessions and on-demand videos. By utilizing our vast network of law firms in Japan as well as overseas that we have cultivated through our international litigation support, we invite lawyers and legal technology experts who are widely active in Japan and overseas as our guests. As of February 2022, FRONTEO has welcomed over 100 speakers from more than 40 firms, including major law firms in Japan and the U.S.　while the currently available videos have reached 300.

The portal site offers the latest trends in Japan and overseas, focusing on topics such as international litigation, fraud investigation, and compliance. All information is practical in use and content in line with recent hot topics, such as revisions to the Personal Information Protection Law and the internal reporting system, is added in a timely manner.

About Brian Paul Gearing, Ph.D., Partner, Crowell & Moring LLP
Brian Paul Gearing is a partner in the New York office of Crowell & Moring and a member of the Intellectual Property Group, focusing on patent litigation. He has unique experience working in Tokyo, Japan, where he spent three years representing Asia Pacific-based clients in U.S. litigations and arbitrations. Dr. Gearing has been lead trial counsel on numerous high-profile litigations that have resulted in favorable judgments and settlements for his clients, including winning thefirst-ever trial to be held on the issue of IPR estoppel in the United States. Having substantial experience with a wide variety of technologies, Dr. Gearing counsels clients on the implementation of new technologies such as blockchain and distributed ledgers, and the development of innovative products such as virtual currencies and blockchain-based assets. Dr. Gearing is an author of fifteen scientific publications and a named inventor on two U.S. patents pertaining to implantable medical devices and friction and wear of novel nano-coatings. Dr. Gearing earned a Doctorate of Philosophy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he conducted research on the structure and mechanics of various materials before entering law school. After receiving his doctorate, he attended the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where he was a fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology.
