FRONTEO Adopts Microsoft Azure to Improve Operational Efficiency in the Legal Tech AI Space in the U.S.

KIBIT Automator, an AI-based e-discovery and digital forensics platform, runs on Microsoft Azure, the world's most secure environment.

FRONTEO (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Morimoto, President & CEO) announced today that it will begin offering FRONTEO's AI-based e-discovery and digital forensics platform, KIBIT Automator (Note 1), on Microsoft Azure, a cloud platform provided by Microsoft with technical support from Microsoft Japan Co.

By migrating KIBIT Automator to Microsoft Azure, which has the world's largest network and high reliability, FRONTEO is now able to provide services with redundancy and a robust security infrastructure.

In the U.S., discovery requires finding evidentiary documents from a vast amount of data within a limited time frame. FRONTEO has developed an AI-based e-discovery and digital forensics platform, KIBIT Automator, currently fully operational in the U.S. and Japan for FRONTEO clients. KIBIT Automator has achieved substantial results for clients, such as reducing the amount of documents subject to review by lawyers by up to 90%, and increasing documents reviewed per hour metrics by more than 650 documents per hour. By running KIBIT Automator on Microsoft Azure, when a Microsoft Azure client is involved in a U.S. civil lawsuit or regulatory investigation, or when a non-compliance investigation or audit is required, KIBIT Automator can quickly respond to the discovery event without requiring downtime to the business. KIBIT Automator’s availability on Microsoft Azure increases access to FRONTEO’s proprietary AI solution that can help companies achieve cost optimization goals and efficiency targets related to e-discovery.

FRONTEO will begin offering KIBIT Automator on Microsoft Azure in the United States, where rapid response is commonly required in the discovery process.

「KIBIT Automator」は、米国民事訴訟の公判手続きで必要となる証拠開示（ディスカバリ）の中でも特に、電子証拠開示（eディスカバリ）における文書レビュー作業の効率向上、作業担当者の負荷軽減、費用削減を目的として開発されたAIツールで、2019年3月にリリースされました。ディスカバリで使われる調査手法を応用し、AIを活用して証拠資料である大容量の電子メールや電子ファイルの審査・分析を行います。近年、企業に求められている、短期での情報開示への対応も期待されます。
